[24.0.55 | Feature Request] Always apply DSP in DLNA
« on: October 13, 2018, 11:05:40 pm »

I noticed something a while ago while testing the conversion settings for DLNA servers: If DSP Studio options are selected but file format conversion isn't applied to a given track, said DSP settings are also not applied. Is it possible to have a selectable toggle that forces DSP settings to be applied whether converting or not, or even to just separate them entirely? As it stands, I have to tell it to convert everything—even files with which the destination device is already compatible—to PCM-24 and I assume that this unnecessarily leads to additional processing over-head.

To be able to apply DSP, you need to decode and convert the audio. You cannot apply DSP to compressed files.
On a local network, if you want to apply DSP for all files, converting to PCM-24 is really your best choice already.
