New Mainboard Z270;H270; B250
« on: November 05, 2018, 05:40:54 am »

My motherboard has died, I need a new one. Micro-ATX Formfactor.

My understanding is the following:
Z720 supports 24 PCIe lanes vs 20=H270 vs 12 B250.
PCI-e configs are z270: 1x16 or 2x 8 or 1x8+2x 4. for H270/B250.

If one has one x4 m.2 ssd + 1 x NVIDIA GK + 1 x x4 PCIe card

could one use a B250 board without performance degradation for A/V?

I would check the instruction manuals for potential mainboards on their exact PCIe configuration possibilities. You definitely want a x8 for the graphics card at least.
