Media Center Creating New Versions of Itself - MC 25 MC 26 MC27

Since the beginning of November, I think, I got notification that there was an update to MC and when I went to install it several things happened: it created additional application folders each time - MC 25, MC 26, MC 27; when I tried to open the MC25 app, it opened as a version of MC 24. Obviously, there are no available versions beyond MC 24 that I know of, but it’s odd that this occurred right around the time that I was notified of the breach.  Anyone else have something like this happen on their Mac version?  I’m on OS X El Capitan.

Probably best to ask this in the mac section of the forum - doesn't happen on my windows machines.
