rename/move/copy files from a library client
« on: March 21, 2019, 10:25:48 am »

I'm considering moving my windows desktop pc that run MC library server away from my desk and into the A/V rack, essentially becoming a headless MC server, then using my new laptop running MC library client as my primary machine.
Of course I'd like to then do all new media management tasks from the library client.
It allowed me to import a new file.
The libraries sync'd and I could see it was added on the library server.
I then use the rename/move/copy files utility to rename the files into a certain folder structure on my NAS.
Both computers see the NAS via the same UNC path, so this should work, but I get a popup saying that the rename/move/copy feature is not available on a library client.
Any ideas besides remote desktop into the desktop?

Wouldn't mind an answer to this myself.  Getting tired of having to go into my Server computer in order to manage my library.  I think this is something that should be able to be done from a client computer.

I am in the same situation as the OP.  Music stored on local Synology NAS.  Library on what I would like to be a headless PC.  Music / Movies etc... Mapped via UNC path.
