Skipping/Broken Music Problem.
« on: May 22, 2003, 05:09:06 pm »

Hi All!!   :)

I wanted to ask if anyone out there is having a problem with music skipping once in a while.
I had a P4 1.8GHz processor with DDR memory and never had this problem but now I have a P43.06GHz with an ASUS P4C800, Dual DDR, and Hyper Threading Enabled.
Once in a while the music stopps for a breif moment. Almost like the processor got too busy. I also noticed a small spike on both processor threads - in Status Monitor.
It is a very intermittent problem.
I am just guessing that it is some kind of problem with the Intel Hyper Threading on the very early production of the P4-3.06. Has anyone else had this kind of experience?
Maybe I should send the processor back to intel for a check.
I also noticed that it does this in WMP when playing video or music.

I welcome anyone elses experience.

Gary ?

not sure if it is related

if you have auto resize turned on you may want to turn that off, that will do this also.

You might want to also try this link. Great resource for ?cleaning up? your computer for digital audio work is www.musicxp.net. This site shows you what to turn off, what to turn on and what to tell your operation system about how you would like it to behave.
