Import Freeze
« on: May 21, 2003, 01:06:24 pm »

When I try to import my music, it starts to work and then freezes. It pegs my processor and doesn't finish. I am using Windows 2000. :(

It's hitting one bad / corrupt / confusing file.

If you import in smaller batches, you may be able to nail it down.

If you can, please email the errant file to matt @ jriver.com (no spaces) so we can fix the problem.

Thanks for helping.

:)After your help I was able to track the freeze to gif files in a directory called images in Quick Book Pro. All files are gifs and there are 20 to 30 files in there. Thanks. Would you like me to go through the files to see which gif file is causing the problem?

If you don't mind, could you find the file and send it?  Hopefully we'll be able to fix the bug for everyone then. (you can drag-n-drop the files into MC to import them one by one)

Thanks so much.

i also found a freeze due to a gif file.  i dragged several folders into the audio branch of the media library and narrowed the freeze down to the gif.  i can email you the gif if you want.
