JRiver to Play-fi devices

I am running JRiver Media Center v 24.0.69 on a Mac OS.  I have two Paradigm Play-Fi speakers -- a PW800 and a PW600 that MC recognizes as endpoints.  MC allows me to send music to the two devices, but there is no volume control.  Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing, or is Play-Fi incompatible with MC (even though the program can see the endpoints?)
