Help with adding right click features to Girder
« on: May 21, 2003, 04:38:56 am »

I'm helping Brad with adding the following options to his supplied GML:

Right Click - Play
Right Click - Add To Playing Now

The obvious choice was to use SHIFT+F10 which is the right click shortcut - Works in all programs except MC9! Why?

The Command/RightClick doesn't work in Girder/MC9  unless I capture a right click to get the W and L params, but then it just jumps to the same MP3 everytime.

The Menu Key in Girder also doesn't work in MC9.

Any ideas on how to get a right click to work in MC9?
All three options seem to work in other programs such as Outlook, IE and Word.

Regards

Vic

Vic,

I had a thought (although I'm not near my MC machine for a few days)....

We can probably send the "APPS" key to a particular frame in the MC9 Mega-Me window to get the contextual menu to appear. Targeting MC9 itself won't be enough (I think). We'll need to hit the actual frame by using the targeting crosshairs in Girder.

Of course, MCC commands would be the best thing...

Hi Brad,

I've already tried that unfortunately.

The 3 commands that I tried:

SHIFT+F10 Shortcut
Command/Right-Click
Special Key - MENU

I have tried all three above in combinations of:

Target - Mediajukebox.exe
Target - SysListView32 (List view Frame)
Target - Foreground Task

The only thing that was close to working was when I ran a capture and right clicked in the MC List frame. I then used the W and L params to create a Command/Right-Click. This worked but only the song I right clicked on in the capture, i.e. there's different params for each song in a list!! No Good.

I'll keep trying but if there is something you think If missed, let me know.

Cheers

I'm surprised the Right Click action with the List View target didn't work. I would still try the APPS special key, since I think there's something wonky in Girder/MC where the MENU special key doesn't do what it ought.

That's certainly the case with the "toggle Hairstyle" function of the MENU key.  But using the APPS key (via Girder) works fine.
