EDITING DURATION ["TIME"] PROPERTIES

How do you "correct" the duration or time listed for a song when it states an incorrect length for a music track.

The only time I've seen this happen is when you play a partial or incomplete file first with the same tag info & filename as the full version. Playing the full version doesn't update the song length. I would just Shift-Delete the file out of MJ (but don't check the "Delete from disk" option). Then play it again or re-import it.

Or it's possible that it's a VBR encoded MP3 that doesn't have the Xing VBR header. Most players calculate the time based on the bitrate, but when you have a VBR bitrate the time calculation is thrown off unless you have the header to tell the player the time. Some programs (like Musicmatch, I think) don't write the VBR header.  AFAIK, there's no way to correct this, other than re-ripping and encoding using a program that writes the header.
