Installing MC25

<< < (2/7) > >>

Awesome Donkey:
Right click on files, Library tools sub-menu > Update tags (from library) is there. :)

Dennis in FL:
OK...that worked...but now I keep getting a nuisance error as it cannot change the ISO files.  Everytime I change a Tag anywhere - I get the error.  How do I turn it off?

Awesome Donkey:
Yeah, ISO files lack support for saving metadata/tags internally. However, you could try enabling sidecar support which will work for ISO files.

MC's Options > General > Importing & Tagging > set Sidecar tagging mode: to Save in sidecar if internal tagging is not supported then click on Create external sidecar files for media types: and select Audio.

What this does is for filetypes that MC can't directly write metadata/tags to, like ISO files, it creates a file in the same directory as the ISO file(s) which acts as a "sidecar" saving the metadata/tags there instead.

Maybe that should be enabled by default?

I lost a lot of my tag edits from V24.   I started putting them back but there's a lot of them.   Should I go back to V24 and use sidecar then save the library and restore in V25?   Or just keep pluggin in V25?
