Auto import for remote drive not working. Library not being updated.
(1/1)
janpeeters:
Hi, I have auto import configured for a few folders on a remote drive. The drive is mounted but when I add new folders to the drive they are not added to the library. What could be the reason?
I'm on macOS 10.14.4, drive is mounted via SMB and is writable. Rights on the drive are set to 'ignore ownership' so all files are accessible.
In the past I've had this before and the only thing that fixed is was to delete the library and setup everything again. But with a library of more than 40000 files, well…you understand. Here is a screenshot of my Reporter: https://d.pr/i/HhmS6K/HS8Eg1Dbe9
Thanks for any ideas.
JimH:
Double check the auto import settings. Make sure you're importing correct file types.
Search for the files in MC. It's possible they were imported as data files.

Hi @JimH,
Will check things again.
Thanks,
Jan

Can you get it to import files if you tell it to run auto import manually? (I know that sounds weird.)
Tools > Import > Run Auto-import now
If the answer is YES, then this is probably an issue with your file server not supporting "file system events". If the answer is NO, then something else is going on.
Brian.

Hi @blgentry, thanks for your suggestion. I got it to work. There was a problem with the files I was trying to import so MC didn't recognise them.
