Also once running the playlist is visible on my Mac client against the "There:<renderer>", but it cannot be launched from the Mac other than to play locally.

RP will show up on the Streaming Page in the Tree.
Another way to get to it is to create a shortcut on one of the toolbars (right-click customize toolbar) and choose one of the RP channels in the list to add to the toolbar.
Scobie:
Hi Bob, I though it used to but not now?
bob:
It's not in the tree itself. It's on the web page displayed when you do streaming.
I find it a lot easier to just add the button...
Scobie:
Yep thanks Bob.
It certainly appears in mac and windows, but what I find often is the Linux web page simply does not load. prob my setup.
But good point I could simply add the button, but for now jremote does the job.

There are some optimizations in the linux internet reading code which exposed a flaw in MC's redirect which has been fixed. That possibly was your issue.
Otherwise, if the start page shows, your streaming page should also show. If neither page shows there is probably something wrong with your setup.
The x64 version downloads its own web browser the first time it runs. The x86 and arm builds use webkit-gtk on the system.
