Save Play Dr as a playlist or smart playlist?
« on: May 07, 2019, 06:26:02 am »

I thought I had seen there was a way to save a Play Dr playlist as a Smart Playlist or a regular playlist? Can't seem to find it in a search.

What I would like to do, that doesn't seem possible with the JRemote app, is to play a Play Dr set to my Android phone which I then cast or connect via BT to a speaker.

I can use the JRemote to start only regular or Smart playlists so I was hoping there was some way to add in a Play Dr "list" (let's call it a playlist but we know it isn't technically).

Am I missing something with JRemote or is there a way to save a set of Play Dr parameters as a playlist I can fire off from the phone?

Thanks, as always.

I can't speak to JRemote functionality, but if you just want to create a normal Playlist from a Play Doctor "list", you can easily.

Just select all tracks in the Play Doctor "list" and right-click > Send To > Playlist > Create Playlist. Or Send to an existing Playlist to overwrite it. Or just select everything in Play Doctor "list" and drag it to "Build Playlist" in the Action Window. Or just copy (Ctrl+C) the selected items, then paste (Ctrl+V) into any Playlist.

Of course, Play Doctor builds the list as it goes, so you either need to let it play for a while to build a significant list, or once it has built the first part, start playing one of the last tracks to get it to add some more tracks to the end of the list.

Is that what you meant?
