What driver to use with a Weiss AFI-1?
« on: May 24, 2019, 04:08:22 pm »

Hi. What driver-method is best to use MC-25 with a Weiss AFI-1 interface, the Weiss ASIO driver or the Kernel Streaming in terms of audio quality? The Weiss can do both, but which of these drivers is the most "direct/transparent" one to use in terms of getting the most bit-perfect and best possible audio playback quality through to the Weiss? And, the same question goes for, which setting for the Volume Mode, most likely "Disable Volume"..? If any other settings that minimize the digital path, improving audio playback quality, let me know too please? Thank you a great lot.

The Weiss ASIO driver would be the most direct and best path.

As to volume, it depends on the quality of your audio systems volume control versus using internal volume in MC. Try both and see which you like better. My guess is you will hear little if any difference.
