Audio not valid playback issue
« on: May 29, 2019, 04:21:25 am »

Hi,

I have an Intel Nuc playing to a 4k projector via an Onkyo receiver and I'm pleased with Media Centre as a playback option.

My main issue is that periodically (maybe 1 in 8 times I play a 4K or normal Blu-ray) I get the following issue.

Playback tried to start then fails with the message

"Something went wrong with playback. Playback could not be started on the selected audio output. The audio format may not be supported by your hardware"

This seems somewhat random but seems more prevalent on some Blurays than others. Other blurays will play fine when this message is displayed but the bluray that fails will not play. A reboot will sometimes fix it and the offending bluray will play fine, sometimes a reboot will not fix it. When I get this message other playback options I have on the same hardware will play that bluray fine (i.e. VLC and POWERDVD without rebooting), Zapitti will also play it.

My hardware is obviously capable of playing these Blurays as they will play it sometimes first time, sometimes following a reboot.

HELP, any ideas?

Thanks
