upgrade to mc25

(1/1)

rikmnet:
Good morning all, got an email offering a discount to go from 24 to 25 and decided to stop putting it off and just get it done

The installed version of 24 complained about the "Trial period expiring..."
the cli : mediacenter24 /RestoreFromFile ./Media_Center24_Linux-436115.mjr
did not work, yielding:

error: expired license file or time/date error
CRegistrationHelper::RestoreFromFile: bInstalledOk is false, error = Unknown Error
Could not restore license from file ./Media_Center24_Linux-436115.mjr

and so I asked for a new key

Plugging the new key in the little window, yields the same old "There was a problem communicating with the license server"

so where do I go from here, do I need a new .mjr file or is there another way?

thanks and any help appreciated,

rikm

JimH:
If you have your MC24 Registration Code, you can use that to purchase the MC25 upgrade license.

For Linux, this is the page:

https://www.jriver.com/purchase_25_linux_as_upgrade.html

When you install MC25 for Linux, you can use that license.

...thanks for the quick response, I belatedly found the part about needing to make a softlink to the certs...apparently a fedora thing

the license key worked and the coupon code was accepted, so it's all good

thanks again,

rikm
