sourcing background images
« on: June 23, 2019, 01:01:11 pm »

When playing songs from p.e. the artist "Jaguar Jaguar", Theater View will show you images from the car brand.
If I'm correct the same has been reported in the past on "Genesis", where cars would been showed instead of more relevant content.

Would it be possible to filter the content more used as background ?
I don't how the meta or keywords are used when searching, maybe possible to always add band, artist, music or such when searching ?

Would be so much nicer when more corresponding images would be showed and in cases no 'correct' images are found the art cover is kept.

Thanks !

You can specify where MC gets backgrounds

Tools -> Options -> Theatre View -> ... Theme: -> Online media slideshow

unselect Google as its the likely source giving you garbage images

For audio only - slideshow also picks local images stored in the same folder as your media file. If you want to show just images stored in your local files in Tools -> Options -> Theatre View -> ... Theme: -> Online media slideshow ... untick all online sources but leave  [Show online media slideshow in file view]

This local background slideshow sadly does not work when browsing video files ... yet ... developers say it would be done ... but still holding my breath here lol

Thanks for the hint Tij, I've got Google as online source already disabled some while ago.
Still lot's of unrelated images showing up,

Thanks Matt for your reaction into the similar thread, which I've just found:

Next build will have this tweak:
Changed: Made artist image lookup key into the fact that it's a music artist a little better (so playing bands with animal names, etc. will show better matches).
