Organising for a newbie

i'm thinking of biting the bullet and getting jriver as my main music player as at the moment i'm using itunes and never been a fan,the only thing i like is the organising of files ,can jriver automatically import and organise new files ,and if so is there some kind of tutorial available,thanks in advance.

Try the trial version. MC can be set up to autoimport all of your music, image and video files - it creates a database, it doesn't move your files. Go to Tools>Import select autoimport and in the popup menu after clicking next you can select all of the folders you want MC to import from. It is best to tell it to take only the relevant file types from the folders you want it to watch. My best advice is to try it and see what you think, personally I find it the best media player of the 21st Century.

PS: When you first start MC look in the bottom left corner and click the cancel import button or it will just go through your computer folders looking for stuff to import.

so am i assuming correct,it will automatically import files into MC but doesnt actually move the file like Itunes? and what about duplicates will it import them as well? thanks for your help

It will import whatever you tell it to.  Did you find the wiki topic on Importing?

yes i did ,very good reading ,but i meant does it physically move the track into a folder,or just tells MC where it is,cheers

MC doesn't move files unless you tell it to.
