After starting MC

After shutting down MC

  DPMS is Disabled

--- End code ---

From the log...

--- Code: ---$ grep DPMS Log.txt
0001471: 140384313076736: General: CSystemPowerManager::ApplyActionsToSystem: Getting DPMS and screen saver values. DPMS Support=1 : DPMS Initial State=1 : Initial SS Timeout=0
0001471: 140384313076736: General: CSystemPowerManager::ApplyActionsToSystem: Setting DPMS state off
0031472: 140384313076736: General: CSystemPowerManager::ApplyActionsToSystem: Setting DPMS state off

--- End code ---

The first two entries were written on MC startup.  The last when I quit MC.
No files were ever played.  I just started MC, waited about 30 seconds, then shut it down.

First, I don't believe MC should disable DPMS on startup unless the "Disable display..." option is enabled which it's not.
Second, it looks like instead of restoring the DPMS state, it's setting it to off again on shutdown.

BryanC:
I've been having this issue as well, however it coincided with a new monitor and laptop purchase so I chalked it up to the hardware changes.

Yeah I was messing with my video driver a few weeks ago and thought the issue was related to that. :)

I think the issue actually may have started in 25.0.65 or thereabouts.

Nothing has changed in that area so for the system power manager, a difference in versions is a coincidence.

The HDMI monitor keep enabled switch isn't the only thing that might keep the monitor on. Being in Theater View or with a detached display will also do this.

Staring MC then exiting it within 30 seconds to test isn't really valid. A generic screen disable preventing timer runs for the first minute, you can see that by viewing MC's system info and hitting refresh while you watch it.

There was however a bug and that is if you stopped MC while the timer was running, you wouldn't get the original state back. This is a OS dependent thing that affected the linux version. It is corrected in the next build.
