Feature Request : Offline Mode
« on: May 11, 2003, 04:25:52 pm »

Hiya,
I'm setting up some media systems for people with MC on it but the systems I'm building it on are not going to have internet connection.
Maybe everyone in the US has their whole house wired to the internet but in the UK and europe in general the internet isn't as common and standard acceptance to just have as the  norm.

Could there be a feature to use YADB in offline mode and to download it all to a local db that could then be updated on the system every month or something.

Even better would be if it could be done incrementally so that we could download like each months db and just update the main one we have stored so that we wouldn't have to re-download the full db.

Pretty please? For the people I'm setting it up for this would make a world of difference so that we dont have all our cd's with no track info. :)

I do not think you can import the YADB data as you would like.
You can do it with FreeDB and - maybe- past it in cdplayer.ini folder.
If such a thing possible ,MC would take cd infos from cdplayer.ini folder.
But i think there is size limitation concerning this folder
