I know several options are offered when deleting files/folders from the library.

Is there a way to delete files/folders en masse based on a FIFO system? 
If I look at the files view, it looks like the only date is that of the recording not when it might have been imported.

Also, IIRC when deleting a single folder with the most severe option (Delete from library and disk), the folder and artwork remain in the storage directory and need to be deleted separately using File Explorer in MS system.

There is a Date Imported tag that you can use to sort.

Assuming your image files are imported into MC, create view that shows both audio files (or video) and image files and group by filename (path).  That way you can see the image files next to the audio/video files.
