I think we reproduced and solved the problem for the next build.

It looks like the minimum size we give to the system can't be scaled for Retina mode.  We undid the scaling and it started working beautifully.

It looks like Matt and team have probably solved your problem.  Yay!

But just for full information:  A reinstall generally does not remove the old configuration files or replace them with new ones as far as I know.  You would need to do this manually.  Which is not hard and can be done without removing your database (library) or anything else.  You don't seem to need to do it, so I won't belabor the point.  Just letting you know it's an option for any future weirdness.
