Installation issues
« on: August 05, 2019, 02:46:45 pm »

Hi, looking for support. Just bought JRiver today and trying to install on Windows 10 PC. Sucesfully downloaded the 25.0.83 x64 release, then double clicked and installation process starts by decompressing files. Then Windows ask me to allow to change operational system, then I click OK ....  then nothing more. I can not find the decompressed files nor the destinations folder showed in the decompression process. Instalallaton just stops with no message or hint. Please help what to do. Tryed already rebooting the PC, updating Windoes10 to the latest version, downloading again with an old version of JRiver. So far no success.

Very likely it's caused by antivirus/antimalware software? Are you using anything other than Windows Defender?

Thank you very much for your support. Yes I use Avast as a antivirus/antimalware protection. Iīve turned all Avast protection off, reboot PC and tried to install JRiver again and got same problem. Installation process goes fine but the install.exe program didnīt start. This is what I do not understand: Windows ask me permission to execute the JRiver install.exe program from my own hard disk but I can not find the instalation folder on C:\users\pmasi\AppData\Local\Temp\ where it is suposed to be. Please help.

Try redownloading MC from this topic (pick either the 32-bit or 64-bit version, depending on your OS and preference) with the AV switched off: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,121675.0.html

Thank you again for the support but unfortunely didnt work. Removed Avast, redownloaded MC and tried to install. Same issue as described above...guess will have to ask JRiver to cancel the purchase....unless the gentlemen still have other suggestions.....  :'(

Please try again and post the exact steps you take and the exact error messages.

What version of Windows 10 do you use?

This isn't a problem with MC.  It's a problem with the OS.

Have Windows 10 V1903

Installation steps:

1. Downloaded MC from this link -> https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,121675.0.html
2. Double click on the Media Center 250088-x64 icon saved on desktot
3. Installation files extraction seems to run ok. No error message or any sign of problem
4. Windows shows me an instalation screen asking me to allow instalation to procced. Click Yes...
5. and this is the end...no further installation, no error message, nothing.

So far I tried changing the download path, turning Avast off first and then desinstalling as suggested, rebboting the system many times....

You could try manually extracting the build files from the Media Center you downloaded with 7-zip, then run Install.exe from the directory.
