Behavior of MC25 & Mac dock
daidnik:
Just to follow up, I checked the settings when I got home and the "Recent Apps" option was already unchecked. I went thru several shutdown/restart cycles and found that the abnormal multiple objects syndrome was gone.
The fairies must have fixed it for me while I was at work. I'll take it.
Got startup of MC25 config'd in the app to start when the Mac Mini boots and display the Audio Library. A few more shutdown/restarts to verify all is good.
I'm on to the next level with remote devices to MC25 Mac Mini server. All is excellent for now.
Thank you Brian for aiding in my understanding.
ethomp:
MC25 does do something unusual in the dock, and it has nothing to do with recent applications.
I'm not sure what all those spawned instances are. The Activity Monitor only showed 1 instance of MC25.

MC uses different/multiple processes for auto-import and other things, if I recall correctly.
blgentry:
It's normal to see 2 or 3 MC icons in the dock, BRIEFLY, on startup. As AD said, these are auto import processes running to check your various directories that are being monitored.
If this goes away in the first minute or so of running MC, then it's exactly what I've been seeing on the last 5 versions of MC for Mac. :)
Brian.
ethomp:
I'm sure that it is a process spawned to do some background stuff. However, lots of Mac apps do similar things, and they don't usually add icons to the dock when they do.
Since my library is relatively new, it makes sense for more background processing to be required.
I'm not especially concerned by it, but it is kinda annoying.
