5.1 flacs, Stereo flacs with confusing results

JimH:
Here's a wiki topic on Surround Sound in JRiver.

JimH,

Good to know you are still around.  Here is the Xiph FLAC tools documentation, they are the official FLAC custodians.  They refer to those parameters as "Levels" not anything to do with "Quality" regardless of quality of what. Just look at page 11 in the attachment and you will see what I mean.

If you look at their home page for FLAC, in the first sentence, they distance themselves from the word "Quality." https://xiph.org/flac/index.html.

My point was that, as you know, differences in wording can be critical when someone is trying to understand a problem like why the FLAC files aren't playing and they are comparing wording on different products.  I tripped over this little thing for days (off and on, of course) before I just tried it anyway and it worked.

You guys are great, I am just asking for you to line up the terminology for the next guy/gal.

JimH:
OK.  I changed the wiki again.  Anywhere else?

Thanks.

Smilin_Jim:
I am pretty sure it show up in one of the detailed settings windows for the FLAC encoder under tools\Convert.  I was using MC23, which is why I have it posted here.

Thanks for your quick response.
