Media Centre 9, Database Report Function
« on: May 08, 2003, 03:13:30 am »

I have just passed 10,000 files in my MP3 collection and would like to ask is there any report generating function within Media Centre 9 ? At present I have to use the Creative Playcentre software that I got with my Creative 20gig jukebox player, which has a VERY basic report generator. This is very frustrating because the Creative Playcentre software is POOR quality and takes an age, often hanging.

Also, where has the "last 3 commands used" when right clicking gone. It seems to have been replaced with only the last command used ? I found having the last 3 commands very helpfull when ripping.

regards

Sumo

1/ Open the Properies Tab (Atl+Enter)
2/ Select the Whole library by simply clicking on 'Media Library' in the Tree View
3/ In the Properties tab select The Statistics Page (use the top arrows)
4/ At the bottom of the properties tab you can choose various statistics presentation (although it's quite simple) you can even print this informaton if you wish.

That's Right in 9.0.171 it default to one instead of 3. Anyway you can change this as Matt explained in the MC9.0.171 thread:
4. NEW: Right-click MRU depth adjustable here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\MRUCommandCount (0 to any number)
You need to run "regedit" to edit this registry value to any number of your liking. (I set mine to five)

Hope this helps,

have a nice day,

C.

Alternatively select all files, go to the File menu and select Export Playlist, choose HTML playlist and hit Export.  Bingo!  A nice HTML report of your whole library which can be jazzed up by attaching an appropriate CSS file!

Adam

PS Alternatively if you use XML you can export your whole library to XML and then use the two XSL transformations listed in the Export to XML thread to convert to HTML...
