I'm the extremely excited owner of a new 30GB iPod!

I can't wait to try out all the hard work Steve & the other iPodders have done with MC9 (gotta transcode or convert those APLs of mine).

However, I don't have FireWire on my MC9 machine.

Can anyone suggest some models of FireWire PCI cards that will:

1) Work in Win2k
2) Have an internal port that I can cable to the front panel FireWire connector on my CoolerMaster case
3) Provide enough power on the FW bus to charge the iPod

In the meantime I'll play with my very limited library of MP3s from my Mac. (And wait for AAC encoding/conversion/transcoding in MC9)

Although not a Firewire card, the BusLink USB2 card (4 ext ports, 1 int port) I've been using has been solid and fault free under W2k, so I would imagine they're FW model should be also (3 ext ports, 0 int ports). I did a little research on it cause I was curious. Looks like you may have a hard time finding a name brand that has an internal port. Adaptec's AFW-4300 looks good (no int port). I think the FW spec calls for powered ports (but it could be cable dependent). Power draw on charging your iPod should be minimal, so either of these cards should fair well.
