I have 2 PCs running windows 10, and one mac running OS X 10.15.  The newest PC has apple software installed, and the latest build of MC 25.  This PC can sync with my iPod with no problem.  The other computers react as follows:  Older Windows 10 PC with iTunes, and MC 25, gives me a message stating that the model cannot be identified.  OS X 10.15 and MC 25:  MC will treat the ipod as a generic usb device, and store files in /music/artist/album/ (which was a little odd, but I didn't dig into that much)

What info can I collect from these machines to help figure out a definitive and consistent way to get syncing to work?  I've seen posts here stating that apple made an update that broke syncing, but that doesn't explain what's going on here.  Could it be the PC without itunes works since it's not being deliberately broken by apple?
