Music is playing through Mac internal speakers instead of DAC
« on: October 29, 2020, 03:46:32 pm »

Somehow the setting got changed. How do I set it back to play through the DAC? I've reviewed the menus but cannot find it currently.

Well that problem cleared up on it's own but now it is playing DSD at 96khz PCM. I would like to play DSD as DSD. How is that set?

The setting is always located in MC's Options > Audio section > under Audio Device is a drop down menu, choose your DAC from that, don't use the default CoreAudio output.

As for DSD playback, simply enable DSD bitstreaming if you're using a DSD-capable DAC, or enable DoPE if using DLNA. More info is on the wiki.

I got it now. Don't know how those settings changed on their own though. It's now playing DSD as DSD.
