Third Annual Omaha Steaks Contest for Most Helpful Members
« on: November 17, 2019, 05:08:45 pm »

It's been about a year now since we ran this contest last.

Please nominate up to three people who deserve our recognition for their assistance to you or others on the forum.  We'll run a poll of the top contendors (anyone getting five votes or more).

Thanks to all who help.  You're much appreciated, even if you're a vegetarian.

JRiver staff isn't eligible, but we know we're loved.

Oh sure...  The Donkey nominates the Banana, the Squirrel, and for bonus points, the Aussie!

+1 but add in blgentry.

PS. Don't vote for me. I already won once and I haven't had enough time lately to be super-helpful. Thanks, though!

This needs a bump so...

blgentry - because he represents for the Mac users, where few others do.

wer - because he is tenacious, and picking up the slack others have left.

Then I can't pick between these two, so it has to be four nominations Jim;

Moe & Lepa - because they are pushing the boundries of what can be done in Tooltip and Theatre View displays.

Thank you for the mention. Very much appreciated. Sadly though, Real Life™ has dealt me a few bad hands recently leaving me with little to no 'me' time, so, as some may have noticed, my contributions around here can be a tad sporadic. I don't feel entitled for a mention in this thread :)

As I'm here, for me, consideration should be given to Brian and Rod for their excellent knowledge and well researched and well presented responses.

Moe & Lepa - because they are pushing the boundries of what can be done in Tooltip and Theatre View displays.

Definitely these 2!! What they have done, and showed me how to do it, with Tooltip and Theater View displays has been nothing short of awesome! I now have some cool eye-candy for MC that wows everyone that sees it (even though what I've done is nothing compared to what they have accomplished!).

Thanks guys for your nice words. I've been reluctant to nominate anyone as there are so much of helpful people here just to name three

In no particular order and could have chosen dozen others too...

Moe
 - Helping people in general and of course comrade in arms in the scraping and tooltip/theaterview business. Let's not also forget that plenty of our efforts are possible because of wonderful MCUtils

Awesome Donkey
 - Man in the middle. Not working for JRiver but always helping people and also for his linux knowledge

RoderickGI
 - Always helping others with precise, descriptive and detailed posts

Hate to leave out people like Wer for very no nonsense approach to get thing done cleanly, blgentry for his general and Mac input (and I don't use mac :D ), marko mainly this year for work on skins... and others too

Thanks for everybody who helps here and shares the knowledge to others!

I was about to try to turn this into a poll, but I'm going to wave my fairy wand and declare several winners.  It's too hard to vote for just one person.

In the order of total nominations above ...

RoderickGI  12  done

Moe  8   done

Awesome Donkey  6   done

blgentry  5    done

glynor  4

wer   4

lepa   3

------ All above are winners --------

And honorable mentions to the others who scored once or twice:  jmone, mwillems,  MrC, marko, RD James.

Please let me know if you see an error in my counting.

So I'm declaring the six above as winners.  If you'll send me an email with your name, forum name, and address, we'll send you a box of steaks.

If you're a vegetarian or live in a country other than the U.S., we'll send you the cash value.  Include your Paypal account if possible.

jimh at jriver is where I can be found.

I want to add my personal thanks for all you do.  It's extremely helpful to JRiver and it personally warms my heart to see how kind you are.

Warm regards,

Jim

My daughter and I enjoyed two of our glorious steaks last week, and they were wonderful. We've squirreled away the rest for another quarantine day when we really need a boost.  ;D

Thanks again!!
