scottlf:
The "Importing Media" side pane doesn't update itself during an import process unless you resize it or the like.

--- Quote from: HaWi on November 21, 2019, 07:34:05 am ---I have observed the same thing. Hard to tell what triggers it. Seems almost like random freezes. Sometimes they can take more than a minute to resolve. Restarting MC always fixes it in my case, too. On my system it might have to do with the fact that my media files on a NAS although directly connected via Ethernet/switch. I'm willing to provide any kind of data necessary should anyone want to look at this issue.
many thanks,

I have the same as Dennis and Hans as well. Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes and sometimes first couple of songs but everything freezes up at some point while trying to listen.

If it's just looks like the UI is frozen, when you restart it go to logging and send a log.
I'm running a test with a NAS and 10k files. I found one issue with flac files with mis-formatted dates in their tags, but that caused a crash. Nothing else so far.
Dennis in FL:
I forgot to add....I have all music on an external hard drive (not a NAS) - the freeze up hasn't happened in a while. I initially thought it had something to do with the .123 upgrade. Not sure.
Awesome Donkey:
Perhaps the OS is sending the external hard drive into sleep? As an experiment, in macOS you might want to try disabling sleep for hard drives and see if the issue goes away.
