MC25 crashes a lot (Windows)
« on: December 06, 2019, 07:19:40 pm »

Loaded MC25 to eval (have license to 19).  Somebody is calling the windows function SleepEx on a UI thread, which is a bad idea. Send below to your devs.  Contact me via my registered email address if you want a dump/cab for this crash.  It dies while sitting there doing nothing, it dies while doing file format conversions, it dies while trying to perform DLNA operations (which by the way don't work, trying to control a PSAudio Bridge II).

JRiver 25.0.114 (64bit).

Strange, mine is as stable as the earth I stand on. I can cause a crash by intensive meddling but I have been running the software for a long time with very little problem. Perhaps something in your setup is interfering and causing a problem. Just my opinion.

Please send me a log and dump and I'll take a look.  Just click Report a Problem after a crash.  I'm matt at jriver.

I unplugged an external USB drive that I was using as the target of FLAC => MP3 conversions and MC25 stopped crashing. I was doing a bunch of DLNA tinkering (posted another topic just now) and while the DLNA streaming did not work, nothing was crashing.

So I plugged the drive back in and started doing some conversions (with logging on) to see if I can provoke this into crashing.  I did a lot of conversions over several days and MC25 probably crashed close to a hundred times (guesstimate of course).  I finally grabbed a crash dump and that's what is above.

I'll report back.
