This is interesting to me too. I've been using version 19 for seven years now, all I need from the player is the best audio experience (Direct Sound from ASUS Xonar Essence STX).
Can anyone from the development team confirm that improvements in this area continue to be made?
Otherwise I see no motivation for me to upgrade.
Awesome Donkey:
MC is capable of outputting bit-perfect audio and I'm not sure how that could be improved. That said there's been additions and improvements related to audio over the last couple years like the SoX resampler, memory playback, HDCD decoding, etc.
P. S. If best sound quality possible is your goal, using DirectSound isn't the way to get it since DirectSound goes through Windows' mixer. Better to use something like WASAPI exclusive or ASIO that bypasses the system mixer. You won't get bit-perfect audio output with DirectSound.

Hi, can someone confirm whether MC26 can still detect Reaper’s DAW Rearoute in the device setting. I am currently using MC24 and the Rearoute is available in two of the PC but not in the NUC. I am reluctant to install a new version for fear of losing the Rearoute and won’t be revert to the old version. Meanwhile, I could not stream Youtube or music from MC24. I suspect it could be due to the Rearoute. Is it possible for the developers to test out with Reaper?
I send audio from MC to the round Rearoute.
JimH:
You can install MC26 and try it. It won't affect older versions of MC. Uninstall the older version when you're happy with the new one.
