The 26.0.23 Buster build is working fine here on Ubuntu 19.10. Try running mediacenter26 in a Terminal window and see what it says.

MC Buster installed.
Tested an image, still can not past from Chrome.
Error:
"No image found on clipboard,{must be image or url/file name image}.

The current build will only do very small images.
I solved this today and will make a new build soon, I'd like to get the copy image TO clipboard working first. That one is pretty complex.
