23 seems to work fine.  I've tried different settings of focus stealing to no avail but having to turn it off is a little disconcerting.   MC shouldn't require specific system wide settings.

That may have been just for the 26.0.26 build, there were 2 changes in there. When the next one is posted it would be interesting for you to try it again with the desktop hack turned back on.
