$ sudo apt-get full-update
to update to the latest version

That's how it works on Debian-based Linux distros. You can either run sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade to check for updates, check for updates using the package manager of your Linux distro, or download the .deb file and manually install it.

But now I will probably use MC 25 again because my whole library gets mixed up.
All songs have far too high rights 766 - That can't be the reason.
Mc says it all renamed and moved.
But not a single piece has been moved / renamed. (Image)
The songs in the list are displayed correctly as if they had been moved (picture) - but they are in the old place.
EDIT:
I have now opened the artist in MC 25.
I had completely tagged 180 files with MC 26 before.
Illusion .... Only a small part of the tags were taken over.
Mc 25 did the job without a problem

I'm not understanding how your library is messed up.
You just imported your MC25 library (on linux) into MC26 and it was not the same as in MC25?
In your attachment the file is under /media/Musik/...
That's on an external filesystem I assume?
Why is path of the path duplicated in your attachment, did you do a rename/copy? If so, why?
Thanks!

The message is "Something went wrong with playback".
Chrome is the latest stable version and 26.0.26 works fine.

It doesn't work for me with the option Play inside the player in debian either.

You got that wrong.
The songs I'm talking about here are 80% new and were not in the old library that I imported from MC 25 to MC 26.
I've been following the same procedure since about 10 years:
All songs will only be moved to / media / music / and renamed after the tag is right for me. You can see the scheme in the picture. Before that, all songs are on a different drive.
Chicken Shack's songs were mostly not in the old library that I imported into MC 26. They are new, from various CD's. After importing it into MC 26, I tagged it and wanted to rename and move it to / media / music /. MC 26 then shows the correct path and filename, only they were not moved, but were still in / media / data / import. Therefore MC26 could not play the songs.
Then I started MC 25. The songs were imported with auto import. MC 26 had not saved most of the tags, so I had to re-tag. After that, MC25 did the job where MC 26 failed.

No, both HDDs are internally mounted by fstab

Yes, that's what it's about, but I can't see anything double.
After tagging, my scheme is how to rename / save my songs: /media/Musik/Artist/Album/Artist_-_Album_-_Track_-_Name

Ok, I think I understand now. It seems the the rename, move and copy routine is having some issues with the pathnames? Does this sound right?
