Example: I have 20 albums of Bob Dylan. Old genre was "Folkrock". I have changed the genre to "Singer/Songwriter". Now I can see the albums under "recent albums" as new. But, and this is mysterious, only 8 of them. Any idea what happened and any chance not longer to see them under recent albums?

Maybe someone can tell me which Tags are used by JRiver to identify an album as new.

I've modified my Recent Albums view, but I believe by default it's the [Date Imported] field.

That field might get updated under some circumstances though, so if you like a Recent Albums view and want something more reliable and predictable, I would recommend you use the solution given here:

regarding to this topic I have found out this:
"Date Imported" is correct. That's the field which is used for "new albums".
It's not possible to change the date in JRiver.
It's possible to change this date using JRemote (IOS, IPadOS), so it's a easy workaround if there a only few albums to correct.

You'll probably eventually have this problem again, which is why I recommended the solution I did.

And it actually is possible to change Date Imported.  There's a trick.

I tried The solution with  Date Acquired but had a problem with my standard workaround.
What is standard for my with a new album.
1. take very good tagging Software mp3tag to tag all tracks.
2. copy new album to my NAS.
3. let JRiver put in the new Album to their database

That is all

Date acquired  field is a standard tag field in mp3tag too but there is a problem with the date format.
E.g.: writing 31.12.2019 in this field in mp3tag becomes 3.10.1900 in JRiver. In the other direction: putting in a regular date in JRiver becomes a nonsens value in mp3tag. I have tried different date formates but no chance to get the same value in both programs. Maybe a problem with country specific date formats. I am from Austria.

However, changing it via JRemote is easy and works fine for me

Do you have your system date format in Windows set correctly for convention you use, DD.MM.YYYY with a dot as the separator?   I would assume so.

The convention in the U.S. where MC is written is MM/DD/YYYY with a slash as seperator.

Perhaps MC is not respecting your system date format?  I've never seen much discussion of that.  You could raise that as an issue...

Yes, system date is set correct. Also JRiver is doing it correct ..... in my opinion. Writting in this field in format MM/DD/YYYY and hit Enter JRiver switches to DD.MM.YYYY. So it looks good. Closing JRiver and checking the Tag with mp3tag shows in case of e.g. 31.12.2019 (in JRiver) the value 43810.
