Streams in Your Library
« on: April 27, 2003, 07:42:37 am »

I have several streams added to playlists so that I can listen to them on my Tivo.   I also use the auto playlists random selections quite a bit.  Is there a way to keep the streams from coming up in these random playlists?  Thanks!

I'm not real handy with smartlist rules right now but you could put the text string "stream" in the Comment tag or the Notes field in the applicable files and set up your random Smartlists to avoid them (by virtue of having "stream" in these fields). By the way...I assume you really mean Smartlists, since you can remove the streams easily from Playlists.

Good idea! Stream files should be a library entry only and not residing on your hard disk, so it should work.

Thanks!  I had no idea you could edit the Smartlists.

Of course, it is right there in the Help file.  I was also able to EXCLUDE by playlist (which all my streams are in).  But by using the "-filename=://" I won't have to keep excluding new playlists when I add them.

Now I can also exclude my comedy cds by genre.

Thanks again.
