Media 25 shuts down all the time
koldby:
I have a very irritating problem.
My media center shuts down after about 20 min.
And it has been doing this for quite a while. In the middle of playing music, suddenly a break in the stream about 2sec and after another 5 sec, Mediacenter shuts down. Nothing else happens and I can restart it again (it tells me that it has been shut down wrongly) and everything is ok. until another 20 min has gone, and mediacenter shuts down in exactly the same way again and it continues to do this all the time.
JimH:
Check the thread called "Weird Problems" in my signature. Don't skip the antivirus thread linked there.
RoderickGI:
The first thing to try is to turn off Auto Import in the background: "Options > Library & Folders > Auto-import > Run auto-import in background"
See if the problem goes away.
If that doesn't work, tell us more about your environment.
You are running the 32bit version of last version MC25, MC25.0.115, correct?
You are running Convolution and 32bit VSTs?
It is running on a Windows 10 installation you built last October?
You are playing directly from your music PC to an output device, with no DLNA or Streamer involved?
Is your music on an external drive such as a NAS or a USB drive?
Has this problem been happening since you switched to Windows 10?
Create a log file with the crash in it.
Tell us what file was playing when it crashed.

I looked through that thread, and I have disabled Windows Defender and have no other Virus programs. It is a dedicated music PC with only the things installed necessary for JRiver (and cclenear)

Auto Import in background is now stopped, but the problem remains.
It is MC25.0.114 is that a problem?
You are running Convolution and 32bit VSTs? Yes
It is running on a Windows 10 installation you built last October? I believe it is an older win 10 installation, but I am not sure. It has been updated as per win updates.
You are playing directly from your music PC to an output device, with no DLNA or Streamer involve Yes
NAS and USB harddsik. Same problem.
The problem is pretty recent and was not there at the beginning.
It doesen´t matter what file I play, only that JRiver has been playing a certain amount of time apparently.
JimH:
You can't just disable Windows Defender. You must configure it.
Try without Convolution.
It's possible you have a hardware problem.
