Toolbar
« on: May 02, 2020, 03:12:27 pm »

It would be very helpful to allow the user to edit the text used on the Toolbar.

Currently to clear playing the text is "Clear Playing Now". This if far more verbose than necessary.
I would just a easily understand "Clear" since I put the button on the tool bar.

Regards,

Milt

The image shown is "where" I am requesting a change. Where the "Text Options" allows me to show or not show the test labels I would like to be able to edit the label. Rather than have the label say ""Add to Playing Now" I would like to change the label to "Add Playing" or some other text I choose.

Dear Mr. Junior, you can nearly change any writings in MC. You just have to modify the language text file.
Please have a look here https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Languages

Unfortunately the majority of the text strings used in the toolbar have a '#!' below the string which means they can't be altered.

From the Language.txt file within the English directory.
#  '#!' is used as a simple way to denote that no translation exists.

In addition some of the Toolbar phrases, "Show Playing Now" do not appear in the languages file.

The language file is a great way to solve the issue - it is a nice way to provide language independence for software. It just appears to be incomplete.

Hope I am wrong!

Dear MRjr. it is possible.
You can modify the language.txt file - the #! shows only that there is no translation made.
Please create  also your own language folder and copy the English text file in there. This text file can then be modified to your needs.
Delete the #! and add your own expression.
Some pictures attached to see what I mean.

Many Thanks. Success at last...
There were nuances in the format of the text file that I finally figured out!
Interestingly, "Clear Playing Now" is not in the English Languages.txt file. I added it as:

Clear Playing Now
Clear Playing

This worked.

Once again, thanks for the patience.

After getting the text file edited correctly, I had to enter the application and remove the default strings from the tool bar. I then restarted the app. and my changes were available to add to the tool bar.

Dear MRjr, fine that we could solve this out.
Please don't forget with an update the language files will be overwritten.
