Does anyone know if the ATI Remote wonder is explicitly supported by MC9, or if that's even necessary?

I use Girder exclusively with my ATI Remote Wonder.  I didn't like the fact that ATI hijacked a few keys on the remote.

My suggestion is for you to do the same.  Take a look at the Girder site (www.girder.nl) for more information.  In particular, you'll want to use the "X10/ATI remote plugin" which is available on the plugin page.

bspachman has written the MC-specific Girder configuration file (.gml) - all you'd need to do is "learn" the remote.  And I can always give you my file - which is based on bspachman's .gml but has many of the common commands already "learned" for the ATI Remote Wonder.

If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.

P.S.  It would be nice if JRiver would also package some "learned" .gmls with MC.

Tried Girder and it seems to be very powerful.

I also found it to be over complicated and difficult to set up.  I finally gave up on it & no longer want to use small programs that take an excessive amount of time to learn.

It could definitely benefit from an improved interface.

Just found this thread, YAY!  
I have been trying to get my ATi Remote Wonder to work with MC9.  
I followed the directions and installed Girder . . . it responds to input from the Remote, but I haver not found how to teach it to control MC9   ?
Can you please send me the Girder configuration file control file you had offered (.gml)

Guys,

I'll clean up my version of bspachman's .gml and send it to you all tonight.

One other thing I like about Girder is that it lets me control the master volume vice a specific card/line - this avoids the current MC problem of not being able to control added zones.  And using the OSD is kind of slick too!
