JRemote Request
« on: June 03, 2020, 02:26:06 am »

First of all: many thanks for running the project—much appreciated.

I am really missing only one thing: a refreshed, updated version of the JRemote for iOS. I have been playing music using an Id (original!) and I control it using iOS—for many years now. While JRemote is miles ahead of the web UI (Panels), it has stagnated: it does not use the screen fully, it has some odd behaviours, but the main little niggle is that I cannot go straight to my music when I start it, instead having to follow a few unnecessary clicks, every time. Minor, but makes the experience less smooth and pleasing than it should be.

I suppose JRemote just needs some new love. ;) Thank you, again.

JRemote for iOS is actively being worked on by Bob, he's getting through the known issues fixing them as time permits.

One more vote for a JRemote on iOS update. I tend to use the MusicCast app that Yamaha provides with their receivers, primarily because I can choose any DLNA server on the network (and the UI has a nicer visual design). I'd rather use JRemote.

One feature missing from both apps is a button at the track browsing level that would display the tag info. This would help for albums that I have multiple copies of. Even better would be the ability to choose which tags to display so I could see my custom tags (like "Remaster Date" and "Remaster Engineer").

That is great to hear! I have just had a look at the Remotes forum and will contribute some ideas for JRemote.
