Buy an old license
« on: May 19, 2020, 03:17:28 am »

I have two Windows licenses of JRiver Media center (23 and 25 vers.) Because before I used a Windows PC. Now I have replaced it with an old Apple Mac Mini 1.83 Core 2 Duo with Osx 10.7.5 Lion (last O.S. for this machine) which is much better than the newer PC, however.I tried to install the Media Center 25 and 26 trials but when the program is launched they crash; the latest version that works on my Mac Mini is 24.0.78, would it be possible to buy the license for this old version? Is there any discount by having the JRiver 23 license for Windows?

Fixed the font size issue in your post.

Also, no, it's not possible to purchase old licenses unfortunately.

Yes, unfortunately MC25 and MC26 are not compatible with the older OS X 10.7 Lion and won't run on it. I believe the bare minimum OS X required is OS X 10.9 Mavericks in MC25/MC26.

Unless you can somehow upgrade the Mac Mini to a newer OS X there's likely nothing that can be done about it unfortunately.

But I think that it should be available the last version right for old osx. I can't buy a new mac ($1000 or also used) for a new osx only for update JRiver MC! Right?

You may try running linux on your mac mini. Installation is tricky but possible, consult https://wiki.debian.org/MacMiniIntel for Debian.

Mac mini 2010 would easily solve the problem and be really fast if you have an SSD laying around to install as a boot drive...
