How-to / JRiver 26 for Arch Linux?

(1/1)

hans4712:
Can you also create a "how to" / JRiver 26 for Arch Linux?
(I use a raspberry 4 with PI OS, but I would like to use Arch Linux if possible)

Thanks in advance

Awesome Donkey:
Well, normally it's easy to install on Arch Linux as it's available in the AUR (and you can use an AUR helper to install it), but the AUR version only works with AMD64 (aka x86_64) devices running the x86_64/64-bit version of Arch Linux.

You'd have to manually figure out how to install it on an ARM version of Arch Linux to use on a Raspberry Pi, assuming it's even possible at all. For Raspberry Pis I'd just recommend sticking with Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian) or a distro like Ubuntu since the ARM version of JRiver Media Center officially comes as a .deb file which is pretty easy to install on those OSes. Using Arch Linux on a Pi is just asking for complications and problems and isn't worth all the trouble, in my opinion.
