JRiver 26.0.98 HDR Washed Out

MrEWhite:
So, I recently got a LG CX 55 and the image is really nice. But, I'm having an issue with JRiver's HDR implementation and the TV. Using HDR in JRiver presents me with a washed out image, even though the HDR notification pops up on the TV. But, using any other media player, such as the inbuilt Windows one (have to enable HDR in Windows for this to look right, though) or even the TV's built in one, the image looks perfect (using the Disney+ version of Avenger's Endgame as a comparison point). I'm using Red October HQ's Balanced preset. Could anyone help me out?
JRiver:

Any other media player (the inbuilt TV's media player in this case):

When does HDR notification pops up? when start playing movie in MC?

that would mean HDR metadata is pass to TV for tonemapping (ie your PC is not doing tone mapping)

if so ... do not use mouse ... if mouse brings play controls (usually on top of screen) it will bring your TV out of HDR mode and image will be washed out ... need to wait for that play control to dissapear - then TV will enter HDR mide again

When the movie starts playing, yeah. In the JRiver image you can even see the HDR pop up. This still occurs even when the TV enters HDR mode.

this is good ... that means you not using Windows HDR which completely sucks

for video in HQ to pass HDR metadata correctly ... it must be played full screen

HDR logo on your TV will pop up ... and colors should be correct

like i mention before ... if you use mouse to bring out play controls ... TV will come out of HDR mode and colors will be washed out ... until that controls dissapears ... then your TV will enter HDR mode once more (popping up HDR logo)

if that bothers you ... use keyboard to control playback

PS. if your GPU is powerful enough ... MadVR tonemapping is the best (biggest reason I am with JRiver) .. but thats another discussion

They're not. That's why I made this thread.
