Feature Requests
Ferdi:
Alternate playback speeds, in particular for audio books and podcasts.
Good idea
Motivation:
* faster playback of podcasts. I listen to many, and often enough a 1.5 speed setting is still understandable and lets me get through more podcasts at the same time. Non-fiction books is a similar case.
* slower playback if, for example, listening to foreign language readings
Players like Apple Podcasts and Audible offer this options, and I use it frequently.
FPacheco:
I've used Media Center since v9 to manage just about every type of file on my systems. Everything from recipes to financial statements. Media Center currently supports a wide range of file types and unfortunately not some that would make it a fully "digital media" management system. I would like to request that the team entertain the value of providing the user with the ability to define their own filetypes. In my current case, it would help me define projects as playlists and maintain all associated project files and media in one place and eliminate the need to hunt & peck through my extensive NAS system.
I am hopeful the team takes this into consideration or provides some direction on how to manage filetypes not listed in Media Center.
Thank you for an awesome product!!

Thanks. Could you post this as a new thread and describe what's missing now? I've been thinking of something similar.
More details might help.
andromaya:
When importing cue files, have the option to automatically copy the separately read files into actual separate files (which currently can be done with 'Rename, Move & Copy Files').
The reading into separate files fooled me into thinking that this splitting/copying process had already been gone through (read: I be noob).
Ferdi:
Identify chapters and create one file per chapter when converting audio book m4b files to mp3.
There's free tools out there that do that, but I am sure that MC would be able to manage this more elegantly and efficiently.
