Feature Requests

Does MC offer any user-level control over the upnp:* (and other) fields used to convey track information for UPnP/DLNA playback?
With MC's capable expression language, such a feature would provide a nice way of dealing with various Renderer differences in field interpretation and/or display without having to actually rewrite tags. One could modify information as it "heads out the door" so to speak.
I think certain fields, like Composer, have come up numerous times over the years. If one has a Renderer that wants nothing to do with Composer or Role.Composer, you could still append a parenthetical "(Composer)" to an Artist field that is parsed and ship it out. Other than providing what would hopefully be a normal level of expression help to users, developers would then no longer be bugged with "could you add this field?" questions. ;D
Steviewunda:
I would like the ability to close the title bar of web streaming windows when maximised (and in cover view), to prevent screen burn-in caused by stationary images

Gedeon:
Also adding here the request to view the lyrics through the web panel when playing/controlling from a web browser.
It would be really appreciated. Lyrics do help a lot for non-native english speakers, and It doesn't seem too difficult since it's just another text tag. A text box with that info with a scrolling would be more than enough in the html code which shows the playing track.
An on-click event or a small icon to switch between the cover and the lyrics could work really well.
¿ Could this be implemented ?
Thanks.

I support the show / hide view capability for the tree view. This would make the interface more relevant when connecting from different client nodes, would reduce the clutter and thus improve usability.

I configure views based on multichannel / stereo / other criteria. Some of my JR clients do not have the hardware available to play views configured for a particular set of files (i.e.
multichannel). There is no reason for this client to display the view. It is darn near impossible for me to explain to the user why that if they select the "wrong" view playback will fail.
I create views specific to a particular user and their machine. There is no reason for that user's machine to display any views except those designed for that user.

Enhancing the shortcut toolbar capabilities would be a great improvement to the interface.
The low hanging fruit (relatively speaking) is the ability to create custom shortcuts and add them to the existing toolbars on the top / bottom.
Ultimately requested: custom toolbar creation, toolbar docking both horizontally and vertically.
The vertical docking is essential given the form factor of modern displays which are stretched horizontally (there is more screen real estate available on the left and the right sides of the screen as compared with the top and bottom).
Dockable, customizable shortcut toolbars would work well with the split view feature - just picture what one could do with a custom shortcut toolbar docked on the right / left of the split view panel!
