JRiver video hardware acceleration mac os
« on: June 05, 2020, 01:27:34 am »

Need Help I am using a macbook pro 13  mid 2010  mac os high sierra tried JR25/26  playing any h264 video file  does not use the GPU at all runs only on CPU at max cpu usage wich causes the devise to overheat 75/80  degrees and drains the battery very fast , The HW box is checked in JRiver . Tried other players : (VLC  uses 30 % GPU  50/60% CPU  runs at 60/65  degrees ).
(Quicktime player  runs the best with just  10 % CPU and GPU usage  40/45 degrees ).

Hardware acceleration for video is not supported on Mac yet, but we should be able to enable it "soon". Some groundwork has gone into the video renderer lately that should enable this more easily.
