Custom split view as default, and position of dividers

hello,
I've started to use a Custom Split view with 2 vertical sections.

I have 2 questions:
- The right section is the Recent Albums view, with the covers. I'd like to have the divider that separates the covers and the metadata info set by default at a certain height instead of being completely "closed". Every time I switch to that view I have to manually move the divider now.

- How can I make my custom view the default at launch?
