Video>Movies Do not show on Shield [SOLVED]
« on: July 31, 2020, 04:52:05 am »

Hi all,

I have managed to get the Shield to access Video>Shows and all Audio but Video>Movies is blank and this is where my biggest library is on my HTPC.

Anyone have any ideas?

Second this - I'm having the same experience. Connected it to my main library - all audio shows up - but nothing under "Movies"

I've deleted it from my Shield and reinstalled with the same result, so it's definitely consistent. If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

Do videos show up if you look under Disk?

What version are you using?

I'll check this evening, but should be the latest since I have autoupdate set on the Shield for the Google Play store.

Sorry for the delay - version is 26.0.35.

In answer to Brad's question - yes, if I go into VIDEO --> DISK --> and the drive my movies are stored in, they are all there.

But still don't show up under VIDEO --> MOVIES

Could it just be populating or is this something that should be fast? Just wondering out loud if I’m just being impatient.

It's a bug where the video category doesn't get populated, but we're not sure of the cause yet.

This should be fixed in the next build.

Just a follow-up to say that the latest update fixed the issues with population of the video/movies category for me. Thank you!

Yes same here, but now there are no genres, so all my thousands of movies are all bunched together in alphabetical order. In addition, movies that have been ripped to a folder structure using JRiver MC are not recognized by the JRiver app on the shield.

Surely I don't have to convert all my rips to MKV'S?
